Hunter's Love and Charity Mission gearup to help families for Christmas

Louis Hunter prepare bags for give-away

The trucking firm, Broadway Transportation, brought in a semi-trailer full of food and toys collected at a strip mall across from the Regency Mall, which was donated to Louise Hunter’s Love and Charity Mission. The local based trucking firm sponsored the event.

When Hunter was asked how she felt about the toy and food give-away, Hunter said, “I feel good, I feel real good. Yes, I can help somebody; you know how I feel about helping people. Lord, halleluiah! Thank you, Jesus!”

Hunter anticipates at least 100 people will come. She will be giving away Christmas food baskets that the mothers can take home and prepare. “Turkeys and hams and whatever the Lord gives us,” said Hunter.

The giveaway will be held Saturday, December 19, at 1:00 pm at the Mission, located 1031 Douglas Ave., Racine.
