Whose needs are really met by the local branch of the NAACP, and the Urban League?


Whose needs are really met by the local branch of the NAACP, and the Urban League?
Recently, the National NAACP celebrated its 100-year anniversary and our local branch celebrated 59 years. The Urban League in Racine has a span of over 40 years.
Much criticism has been launched against the local branch of the NAACP, as well as the local Urban League as organizations that they are no longer serving the needs of the African American community. Some have said that they spend too much time on raising money, and not enough on solving problems in the community.
Who speaks for these organizations locally, and are they effective?
