Racine residents met near the corner of Sixth Street and Mound Avenue., where Sandra Teichow, 67, where found dead Thursday, October 16 by Racine Police. Above, people from the nearby neighborhood joined Rev. Tony Larsen, Pastor of Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church and members of the Racine Interfaith Coalition in the resactification of “holy grounds,” a practice by the group whenever there is a homicide in Racine County. Minister Jackie Streeter, who lives only a few houses down from where the murder occurred, said an inspirational prayer in-front of about 150 people.
Wilbert Thomas, 65, 1004 Grand Ave., a convicted sex offender, was jailed Saturday morning and faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide and robbery by use of force, according to jail records.
