Kenneth Lumpkin, publisher of the Insider News, interviews Karas on issues of importance to the African American community. A citywide primary election will be held Tuesday April 7, 2009 to decide which two of the field of candidates will face off in the May General election. Pete Karas is as genuine as a $3 bill. He will lie to your face to get ahead. He is wrong for Racine

Pete got the clue! From the DRC to RCEDC IMHO a bunch of racists. I would not vote for anyone with strong links to those groups

Karas is an idiot! The city is not discriminating against minorities so stop trying to play the race card. I know for a fact that the former mayor made a concerted effort to appoint minorities to boards and commissions within the city. Perhaps you have been gone from city hall too long. And the grant writer is african american, the parks director is african american, a hispanic was hired as the HR director (although it didnt work out), fair housing is run by an african american and the housing dept is run by a hispanic. In addtion, cdbg dollars are largelt funneled to groups that are working with the minority community. Karas will say one thing to one group and another to a different group. I agree with anon who said he is as genuine asa $3 bill. Karas is a weasel. Dishonest and sneaky.

Have you seen these boards and commissions? Old white males. If an effort was made, it was a poor one.

Pete is right on this one. You are wrong.

Pete-
If you truly cared about minority representation, you would drop out of the race and endorse one of the minority candidates. But you wont do so because you have a paternalistic attitude that claimns that you know what is best for the minority community. You are using your white privilege to the max while disenfranchising the minority voter.
