City of Racine’s North Beach Receives Blue Wave Certification from Clean Beaches Council.

North Beach has once again been designated as a Blue Wave Beach by the Clean Beaches Council in Washington, D.C.  The first national environmental certification for beaches, the Blue Wave designation is given to beaches who uphold a rigorous set of environmental, ethical, and water quality standards.  North Beach was the first Blue Wave beach in Wisconsin and has held this designation continuously since 2004.  “This is a great day for the city of Racine” commented Mayor John Dickert.  “Once again the efforts of Julie Kinzelman working together with the Parks Dept. and Public Works have rewarded our citizens and visitors with one of the cleanest beaches in the country.” For more information on the Clean Beaches Council see http://www.cleanbeaches.com/.

Mayor Dickert went on to say; “This reminds people across the country that Racine is one of the best destinations in the Midwest to spend your summers.”  The news comes just as the Mayor prepares to travel to the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative Conference this month, where the proper use of Racine’s largest natural resource, Lake Michigan will be one of the topics discussed.

Beware of PIER29 WATERSPORT Rental in RACINE!!!
My credit card was just card almost $12,000 for returning 08 Kawasaki jet ski in the same shape I rented it in. They claimed I had a high speed collision with another one of there jet ski which never happened. Funny that the staff didn't point out $12,000 worth of damage before we left the beach and charged my credit card $12000 3 week later. I will definitely dispute this in court. If this is the way they run their business I'd advise anyone not to rent there. Anyone in doing a story? I got paperwork to prove it.
