It took only a few minutes for Louise Hunter, founder of Love and Charity Mission, to hand-out dozens of turkeys to help needy families in Racine inner-city this Thanksgiving. Above: Hunter, had to turn individuals back after running out of the Thanksgiving turkeys a few minutes after the doors was open. In all the mission located,1031 Douglas Avenue, gave-out over 150 turkeys to people who attended the annual giveaway. " I wish that I had more turkeys to give out to help others," said Hunter, who founded the mission begin in the early 1970s. In addition to handing out turkeys today, Love and Charity, will host a Thanksgiving dinner from 12 noon until the food run-out. The dinner which include turkey and all the trimmings is open to the public. People wanting to volunteer or make contribution can do so by calling Mrs. Hunter at (262) 634-7049.

2011 presents many challenges for nonprofits. Today, nonprofits face a reduction in grants; an economy that is stretching their nonprofit dollars to the max; an increase in demand for their services; all while trying to reach new donors in a very competitive industry. Nonprofits are trying very hard to "get the word out about what they do for others", while growing their organization for long-term success.
At Connect To Charity, our objective is to help nonprofits overcome these challenges.
